Toronto police are looking for a suspect after a brawl inside a Chinatown restaurant became a YouTube sensation over the weekend.

The fight at Pho Xe Lua on Spadina Avenue apparently started with an argument over seating and ended up with a woman getting hit in the face with a plate that was tossed across the dining room.

The woman, who is in her 20's, required several stitches in the fracas, which occurred Saturday at 3:30 a.m.

Some of the people involved were wearing Halloween costumes.

Someone videotaped the fight and uploaded the video to YouTube, where it has attracted plenty of attention. As of Monday morning, the video has more than 252,000 views.

In their attempt to identify the man who threw the plate, investigators want to hear from people who have videos or photos of the fight.

Plate-tosser was wearing costume, police say

Police said the man is 20 to 25 years old and five-foot-eight to five-foot-nine with a muscular build and multi-coloured tattoos on his left bicep.

He was clean shaven and has short black hair that was shaved on both sides.

The man was wearing a “SWAT” costume with a holster, tight black V-neck T-shirt and black pants. The word “SWAT” is written in white on the back of the vest and on the right chest area.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
